"Oh, Hudson!" benefit for Hudson River Sloop Clearwater

Hello from historic Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY!
What a wonderful honor to provide a benefit performance of David Gonzalez’s “Oh, Hudson!” for a crowd of Clearwater supporters… on Earth Day weekend, to boot!

As part of David’s epic 45 minute poem that celebrates the “history, people and promise” of the Hudson River Valley, he draws from the music of Pete Seeger. With sadness over the pollution in his beloved Hudson River, Pete and his wife Toshi founded the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater in 1966, a nonprofit organization that sought to protect the Hudson River and the surrounding area through public education. Folks in the region reconize the stunning sloop Clearwater that provides educational programs as it travels the waterways with school children/adult passengers.

Many in the audience shared their personal stories about Pete Seeger and his environmental mission for the Hudson. My heart is full and I look forward to experiencing a future trip on the Clearwater Sloop! I’ll keep you posted!! This is an educational adventure to which I am very much looking forward!
